What is CAS?
In partnership with the Information Management Service the Quality Indicator Group has led on establishing the Clinical Audit System as the platform for SPEG data collection. The aim of this data collection is to have a complete record of patient numbers of children and young people with endocrine conditions across each NHS Board and to capture service delivery in Scotland.
This year the Quality Indicator Group developed a ‘care bundle’ approach on CAS to document reliability with the essential care elements required by each child or young person with adrenal insufficiency. By monitoring that elements of care have been recorded on CAS, the network can show how improvements in care are being delivered.
